As a Senior Guard, I play a vital role in protecting U.S. Embassy Ouagadougou personnel, facilities, and equipment. I oversee access control operations and ensure routine maintenance for my team of guards. I conduct inspections, provide on-the-job training, and act as a supervisor when needed. I ensure guards follow security procedures and promptly notify RSO officers of urgent matters. I manage and monitor pedestrian and vehicle access using advanced security equipment like X-ray scanners, Itemizer, and walk-through metal detectors to screen visitors and prevent unauthorized entry. I respond to security incidents such as bomb threats, fire alarms, and protests. I report potential threats through the appropriate channels. I support evacuations and maintain logs of security activities. My administrative duties include writing incident reports, monitoring the Central Alarm Monitoring System, analyzing security logs, and assisting with training development. I ensure the effective operation of security control panels and emergency systems.
